Sonic LTZ, Dusk and RS features a Ecotec 1.4L turbo rated at 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque of torque. Sonic's standard engine, the naturally aspirated Ecotec 1.8L engine, is rated at 138 horsepower along with 125 lb-ft of torque. Several transmissions are available: a five-speed manual and six-speed automatic with the 1.8L; and a six-speed manual and six-speed automatic with the 1.4L turbo.
