About 2008 Scion xD The 2008 Scion xD's futuristic exterior characterizes it as a Scion with simple surfaces and sharp lines flowing from front to rear. A 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 128 horsepower powers the xD. A five-speed manual transmission and a four-speed automatic transmission are available. Standard features include power steering, windows, door locks and mirrors; remote keyless entry; air conditioning; four-wheel anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brake Distribution and Brake Assist; a tire pressure monitor system; driver and front passenger dual stage airbags; front seat-mounted side airbags; front and rear side curtain airbags; cruiser control; first-aid kit; and tilt steering wheel with audio controls. The 160-watt Pioneer audio system integrates track, artist and album information from the iPod into a one-line display on the head unit's screen. Connectivity is achieved by plugging the iPod into a port via a connector cable. Music is controlled through the head unit and the steering wheel audio control buttons. New for the 2008 model year is Scion's navigation system. It features a 160-watt maximum power audio/video/navigation unit with 7-inch LCD touch screen. Factory-recommended maintenance services at the first 5,000-mile and 10,000 mile intervals, are performed by an authorized Scion or Toyota dealership for free.
