About 2015 Subaru Forester The five-passenger Subaru Forester is an acclaimed crossover SUV that's built a strong reputation for safety, performance, dependability and versatility. The Forester has a bold exterior design and roomy interior, along with improved performance and higher fuel economy across the line with the introduction of the all-new Forester for the 2014 model year. This fourth-generation Forester is built on a new platform featuring a 0.9-inch longer wheelbase (now 103.9 inches). A 250-horsepower 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged BOXER engine leads the line, which also includes models powered by a 170-horsepower 2.5-liter naturally aspirated BOXER engine. The Forester 2.5i model is available in base, Premium, Limited and top-line Touring versions. For 2015, the base model 2.5i gets rear vision camera and color multi-function display as standard equipment. Previously unavailable, the 2.5i Premium manual transmission model is now equipped with a moonroof standard. New for 2015, the 2.5i Touring models receive standard high luster 18-inch alloy wheels. All Touring models feature Keyless Access & Start, HID lights and chrome rocker trim. Navigation is now optional on Touring models. Subaru's EyeSight driver-assist system earned the highest rating given by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The EyeSight system integrates Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking and Vehicle Lane Departure Warning. EyeSight uses a stereo camera design developed by Subaru to provide a detection angle wider than that of radar-based systems. The 2015 Forester comes standard with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, a distinction from the competitive models that come with front-wheel drive as standard and offer all-wheel drive as an extra-cost option.
