About This 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan
About 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan For the 2020 model year, the Volkswagen Tiguan is offered in five trims: S, SE, SE R-Line Black, SEL, and SEL Premium R-Line. Front Assist, Side Assist, and Rear Traffic Alert are now standard on all models. In addition to the newly standard driver-assistance features, all models are equipped with the next-generation Car-Net telematics system, as well as in-car Wi-Fi capability when you subscribe to a data plan. The Volkswagen Tiguan combines style and capability with its wide, low stance, bold character lines and LED lighting. With its refined appearance and ability to cater to an active lifestyle, the Tiguan successfully bridges the gap between adventure and city living. In front-wheel-drive Tiguan models, three rows of seating are standard, including a second-row bench that can recline, slide seven inches fore and aft, fold down, and be split 40/20/40. The 50/50 split third-row provides seating for two, and also folds down. When configured with 4Motion all-wheel-drive, the 2020 Tiguan comes standard with two rows and a third row is optional. The 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan is powered by an advanced version of the EA888 four-cylinder turbocharged direct-injection engine with 184 horsepower that kicks in at 4,400 rpm and is maintained until 6,000 rpm. Maximum torque of 221 lb-ft is available from 1,600 to 4,360 rpm. All Tiguans are equipped with a standard eight-speed automatic transmission. A Start/Stop system is standard for all Tiguan trims, and is designed to help improve fuel efficiency. Tiguan can be equipped with the 4Motion with Active Control all-wheel-drive system. The latest-generation 4Motion system is designed to activate before wheelspin occurs, helping eliminate traction losses. It has four settings: Onroad, Snow, Offroad, and Custom Offroad.
