The Genesis brand’s entry-level large sedan is the G80, formerly the Hyundai Genesis. Since its redesign a few years ago, the G80 has been available with V6 or V8 power in rear- or all-wheel drive. But for the 2018 model year, Genesis introduces the new G80 Sport, a bolder take with more distinctive styling and a new engine that first appeared in the flagship G90 sedan; the 3.3T. This twin-turbo V6 produces 365 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque and comes matched to the brand’s second generation 8-speed automatic transmission with a sporty rev-matching feature for expertly executed downshifts. Genesis has exclusively fitted the new Sport model with continuous damping control for more advanced vehicle dynamics and ride compliance.
